Speed however is a big downfall and for that I gave 4/5. If the scanner was a little faster or if it could handle more pictures in a batch, I would have given it 5/5.
I would head back to the machine once every 20 minutes to install new strips. The machine takes it's time doing the scanning. What I did was to dedicate my laptop for this purpose while doing my other stuff on my desktop. Once that is sorted and figured out the menus options to use, every thing was done and things started to take shape.
My next problem was to figure out the negative film direction. They do all the job, and have all the options available. It could be an installation fault.īy all means, the software the comes with the machine are more than enough. For some reason, the menus with the new version did not work correctly. I later uninstalled the updated version, and worked with the CD software, the old version.
I played little with them, then I went for the upgrade to download from the WEB.
I installed the drivers from the CD that comes with it. To start, I spend around three hours trying to figure things out. All you have to do i s get the settings right, put the film strip in the cartridge, correctly fix the cartridge in the scanner, and let the machine do it all. Currently I am scanning my 35 mm negatives. So twelve pictures, makes twelve cycles in that patch. The bulb worm up at the end of each cycle in a batch. The bulb worm up time is NOT zero as described. which was kind of slow compared to what I was expecting. Total of 12 pictures at a time.Įach scan batch takes approximately 15-20 Minutes. This machine can do Two film strips at a time with a total of six pictures per strip. The main objectives was to have a fast and fully automated solution that can do the job at reasonable effort. Scan speed may vary depending on system configuration, interface, software, scan mode settings and document size etc.I bought this machine for one purpose in mind.
Scan speed indicates the time measured between pressing the scan button of the scanner driver and the on-screen status display turns off. ¹ Colour document scan speed is measured with ISO/IEC 24735 Annex C Test Chart A. Transfer time to computer is not included ¹ The fastest speed in Hi-Speed USB on Windows PC. When scanning in high resolution, the scan size is restricted (maximum optical resolution for A4 scan is 3800dpi). ¹ Optical resolution is a measure of maximum hardware sampling resolution, based on ISO 14473 standard.
